 Statement of Need/Program Overview:

Hospitalists cover a wide array of diagnoses.  This conference will help to ensure that hospitalists are aware of the most up to date diagnostics and treatments for common conditions encountered by hospitalists. Learners will engage in didactics covering a wide array of conditions commonly encountered by hospitalists. Learners will engage in didactics that are directly pertinent to their day-to-day work and will be able to utilize the knowledge gained from the sessions in their daily work.

Presentation Objectives or Course Objectives:

  1. List evidence-based guidelines for common conditions encountered by hospitalists.
  2. Describe recommended approaches to taking care of patients with COVID.
  3. Identify ways in which hospitalists can become involved in advocacy, policy, and leadership.
  4. Recognize how health policies impact daily practice and population based case
  5. Identify how socioeconomic and racial disparities impact daily clinical practice and healthcare at a population-based level
