Anna Maw, MD

Dr. Maw is an academic hospitalist with expertise in Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and Evidenced Based Medicine. She began her career as a clinical educator at New York Presbyterian - Weill Cornell Medical Center where she completed residency. Early in her career she pursued additional training in POCUS and EBM, completing the American College of Chest Physician POCUS certificate program and a Master of Science in Biostatistics. She founded and directed the Weill Cornell Point of Care Ultrasound Internal Medicine Program from 2012-2016, teaching POCUS to medical residents and faculty. Upon arriving at the University of Colorado, she transitioned her academic focus to health services research. Her research is currently supported by the National Institutes of Health and is focused on optimizing health outcomes in hospitalized patients using POCUS. She also continues to teach POCUS to faculty on a national level through SHM's annual pre-course and is the Director of the SHM Rocky Mountain Chapter Certificate of Completion POCUS course. Locally, she teaches POCUS to faculty, medical students, and trainees from multiple specialties.

Noelle M. Northcutt, MD, FACP is an Academic Hospitalist at Denver Health Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She became the Director of Point of Care Ultrasound for the Division of Hospital Medicine at Denver Health after completing a Fellowship in Bedside Ultrasound with Denver Health Emergency Medicine. In addition to point-of-care ultrasound she enjoys teaching bedside communication to residents and students.
Outside of the hospital, she pursues a life in the outdoors hiking and backpacking with her wife, playing with her dogs, and loves to DIY.
