Anunta Virapongse MD, MPH currently serves as the Director of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety for the Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Colorado-Denver Anschutz Medical Campus, the Associate Vice-Chair for Quality for Department of Medicine and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Virapongse completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA and subsequently attended the Harvard School of Public Health where she received her Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Health Care Management and Policy. She has completed coursework in the areas of quality improvement and medical leadership, including a nonclinical fellowship at the Medical Innovation and Leadership Division at Blue Cross, Blue Shield of Massachusetts, the Clinical Quality Fellowship Program at the Greater New York Hospital Association and United Hospital Fund and the MiniATP course at Intermountain Health. She actively lectures to faculty, housestaff and medical students on quality improvement and patient safety tools and techniques and sits on numerous hospital quality committees. Her areas of interest include inpatient sepsis management, clinical pathway development and outcomes driven improvement strategies.
Tyler Miller, MD
Deputy Chief of Medicine and Assistant Professor of Medicine Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center
Tyler Miller, MD currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Medicine at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Hospital Medicine Division at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Colorado in 2012 and completed his residency training in Internal Medicine also at CU. He then served as the Chief Resident in Quality and Patient Safety at the Denver VA Medical Center. A practicing hospitalist, he is actively involved in teaching both clinical and system improvement skills to medical students and residents. He also serves as the Director for Hospital Medicine Quality Improvement and Chair of the Patient Safety Committee at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA.
